The Georgia Lions Camp in Waycross (glcb.org) is in need of a staff nurse for our summer camp program for the blind which runs from the first week of June until the third week of July. This is a “live on” position and includes room and board, however there are breaks between each session. The pay is $600 per week and the requirement is that the RN in question have passed their Georgia Boards. Alternately, we have provisions for an LPN, however, that would be as a “last resort”.
While it would be preferable to have the same nurse for the entire season, having them switch off between sessions is something we can do, and have done in prior years. This is an ideal position for anyone who is a school nurse, job hunting, or looking for some kind of community service as the campers in question are blind and we are a non-profit.
