Smart & Secure: Tech Habits for a Safe Digital Fall
At Darien Telephone keeping you connected — and safe — is our top priority. As storm season meets back-to-school routines, a few quick digital habits can make all the difference:
Back up important files like school projects, family photos, and work documents.
Check your passwords and update old ones for stronger security.
Use parental controls on your router to keep kids safe online.
Test your devices now so you’re prepared if weather disrupts service.
Remember: if the power is out, your internet will be too.
We’re grateful to serve you and your family, and we’re always here to help with tools, tips, and support. Thank you for trusting your hometown team.
When you choose Darien Telephone, you’re not just signing up for internet, TV, or phone service — you’re supporting a hometown company that’s been keeping McIntosh County connected since 1911.
Our network is powered by friends, neighbors, and family — who care deeply about delivering reliable service and strengthening our community.
Thank you for being part of something bigger than service — thank you for being part of the Darien Telephone family.

Every digging job — from planting a tree to installing a fence — requires a call to 811 so a locator can mark underground utility lines with flags or paint. (Red is for electric power, yellow is for natural gas, orange is for telecommunications, and so on.) This enables you to dig safely in unmarked areas and avoid accidental line damage that can cause service interruptions in your neighborhood.
Remember, all sorts of utility lines could be buried on your property, in some cases close to the surface. Thanks in advance for calling 811.
