JUST FOR YOU
✏ Smart Starts: Back to School with Tech That Works

Your guide to powering up the school year with strong Wi-Fi, smart tools, and peace of mind
The notebooks are labeled, the lunches are packed, and the first-day-of-school photos are posted. But is your home Wi-Fi ready for the new school year?

These days, a strong internet connection is just as important as a backpack and a good night’s sleep. Whether your student is learning in the classroom, researching at home, or attending virtual tutoring sessions, having tech that works — when it matters most — can make or break a school year.

At Darien Telephone, we’re here to make sure your student gets a smart start this school year, and that your household stays connected without the stress.

💡 Tech Tools Every Family Needs
Here are a few of our favorite back-to-school tech essentials to help your family hit the ground running:

  • Reliable Wi-Fi with Whole-Home Coverage — No more buffering during assignments or Zoom calls. Our fiber network delivers consistent speed and reliability — even during peak usage hours.
  • Parental Controls & Device Monitoring — Use the DTC app to set limits, monitor connected devices, or pause Wi-Fi for homework time (or dinner time).
  • School Communication Apps — Stay looped in with platforms like ClassDojo, Remind, or Google Classroom — and make sure your connection won’t drop during a virtual parent-teacher chat.
  • Student-Friendly Devices — Whether it’s a Chromebook for digital learning or a tablet for reading apps, today’s schoolwork depends on tech that can keep up.

Pro Tip: Place your router in a central, elevated location for the best signal coverage. Avoid tucking it in a closet or behind furniture — it deserves a little breathing room!

📶 Why Wi-Fi Strength Matters
It’s not just about speed — it’s about staying connected when it counts. Between online assignments, streaming educational videos, group projects, and the occasional virtual study group, your home network needs to be ready for anything. That’s where we come in. With speeds up to 1 GIG, our fiber internet is designed for multi-device households — so students can learn, parents can work, and everyone can stream, scroll, and succeed without slowing down.

👪 Tech Tips for Managing Screen Time
Here are a few helpful strategies for parents balancing work, school, and technology:

  • Create Tech Routines — Set regular Wi-Fi “quiet hours” for homework, reading, or sleep time.
  • Use Our App for Parental Controls — From bedtime restrictions to device-level filtering, it’s all at your fingertips.
  • Monitor Activity — Know what’s connected and when. You’re in control.

Need help setting it up? Our local team is happy to assist — and we’re just a phone call (or short drive) away.

🚌 Supporting Students, Supporting Community
We’re proud to support students throughout McIntosh County. Whether it’s through school supply drives, band and athletic sponsorships, or building SmartTown infrastructure for connected learning, we believe every child deserves the tools to succeed.

Because at Darien Telephone, connection is about more than fiber — it’s about community.

🎯 Ready to Get Started?
Give your student every advantage this year — starting with tech that works and internet that doesn’t quit. Whether you’re looking to upgrade speeds, optimize your Wi-Fi setup, or just need support, we’re here for you.

📞 Call us today to get your home classroom-ready — before the first quiz hits.

georgia 811

Every digging job — from planting a tree to installing a fence — requires a call to 811 so a locator can mark underground utility lines with flags or paint. (Red is for electric power, yellow is for natural gas, orange is for telecommunications, and so on.) This enables you to dig safely in unmarked areas and avoid accidental line damage that can cause service interruptions in your neighborhood.

Remember, all sorts of utility lines could be buried on your property, in some cases close to the surface. Thanks in advance for calling 811.
