Get rid of Temp files

While you're at it, why not clean house? Not all files get saved permanently to your hard drive. Internet multimedia files such as audio clips, pictures, and webpages often end up in the Windows temporary folder. Once the folder is full, new files overwrite old files.

Cleaning out the temporary folder will give you more storage space. If you can't get your favorite webpage to display correctly, clearing out your temp files should do the trick.

Internet Explorer

Click Tools and choose Internet Options.
Go to the General tab and click the Delete Files button under Temporary Internet files.
On the pop-up window that appears, checkmark "delete offline content" and then select OK.
Click OK in the Internet Options dialog box.

Netscape

Click Edit, Preferences, Advanced, and Cache.
Press the Clear Disk Cache button.
Press the Clear Memory Cache button.
Click OK.
