How to determine if you have a Ethernet Card installed in Windows 98 and Windows ME
To
verify if your Network Adapter is installed do the following:
· From the Start menu, choose Run.
· In the new box that appears type winipcfg and press <Enter>.
· Once the IP Configuration window opens, you should see a pulldown menu
with the name of your Network Card listed as a choice. If this is the case,
your Network Adapter is installed correctly and you are ready to proceed to
have have your cable modem connected. If you do not see this information, the
name of your Network Adapter, or the IP Configuration window fails to open,
the Network Adapter was not installed properly or needs to be reinstalled. Please
consult with the manufacturer of your Network Card for proper installation procedures.
